I’m Mario Varela, an urban photographer specializing in black and white.

I work in black and white because in the absence of color I find the bare truth of things. Every shadow holds a story, every reflection an emotion that needs no permission to exist.

Based in Spain and active in various European cities, I explore the relationship between human beings and urban space.

I walk with my camera as one who listens. I don’t seek perfection; I seek what breathes, what trembles, what goes unnoticed. My photographs are fragments of city and soul, witnesses to a silent dialogue between light and time.

Each photograph is a brief visual narration, a pause amid the world’s noise.

Onemankamerah is not just a name. It is a way of seeing: solitary, patient, and stubbornly human.
